Bridal Trends We Love!

Spring is here! This means love is in the air...and so are thoughts of upcoming weddings!

Here at the shop we have already worked with a few blushing brides (one even internationally!!) to help them find the perfect pair of earrings, necklace or pashmina to adorn them on their special day that will be remembered for a lifetime.  I can't tell you how much joy it brings us knowing we have delighted our brides with a unique, beautiful handmade wedding jewelry that she can wear numerous times even after the big day. 

In the spirit of the season, we have compiled four of the 2014 Wedding Trends that we are loving. We have paired some pieces from the shop with our picks too!  Bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride or wedding guest, we would love help you find that one-of-a-kind piece that will delight you!

1) Illusion Necklines Wedding Gowns

This is typically a sweetheart neckline covered with a sheer and sometimes embellished overlay. It has an elegant, vintage look that is incredibly romantic. Modest yet still shows a little skin.  Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wore it on her wedding day. Pair it with a simple pair of earrings, bracelet and stunning veil.

2) Blush Colored Bridesmaid Dresses

According to bridesmaid dress designers purple still reigns supreme as the NO.1 bridesmaid dress color in shades as dark and rich as eggplant to the palest soft lavender, followed by light blush tones. I am loving the blush tones and such a pretty tone for the spring and summer. Pair with something magical from France in the shop!

3) Less Traditional Mother of the Bride Dresses

Mom's do a great job putting their daughters first, but when it comes to finding their dress they need to make sure they give themselves enough time to find a dress that they love and fits their style. The general trend: moving away from the traditional styles and towards a more "hip" look. It has also become acceptable to wear sexy, elegant outfits that show some skin. Ho la la, Mom! And we have pieces that will complete a look and make mom feel particularly feminine and beautiful.

4) The Flower of the Year - The Many-Petaled Tree Peony

Lush, soft, exquisitely romantic and the flower of the year! New York’s Ariella Chezar, whose work has been seen at the White House, has bestowed this honor on the beautiful tree peony.  This flower is exquisite and the intricacy of the petals remind me of the delicate needlework on our hand woven pashmina's from Kashmir.  Every bride should have something to throw over her shoulders...one of these will more than do.
