It seems that everyone loves a reason for a party. Perhaps that’s why there are so many this time of year. Somehow, the number of parties between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day feels higher than during any other season. It’s interesting that, at a time when family obligations and celebrations are in full swing, your friends and office also think it’s a great time to get together. Not that I think parties are a burden! The time I spend with friends just makes the whole season pleasantly whir past me. And, they give me a chance to dress up—to don my most charming outfits and to find great jewelry to pair with them. Okay, so maybe parties are just an excuse to dress up. Maybe that’s why everyone is so eager to celebrate.

The only trouble is, between attending a company holiday party and grabbing drinks with girlfriends, it’s hard to stay on top of outfit planning. Here are a few tips for what to wear to each event, along with some great holiday accessories from our shop!

What to wear to a party with friends:

Whether you’re out getting cocktails or spending time at someone’s apartment, a holiday party with friends gives you the perfect opportunity to wear something fun and stylish. Sparkles and short dresses are not off-limits. Rather, they make your outfit that much more festive. To give this black dress a little more intrigue, try wearing it with a colorful necklace, like this green gemstone AMARO piece, which works great as a holiday accessory.

What to wear to a holiday office party:

With an office party, you get to show-off cute dresses to coworkers that would otherwise be too formal for a day of work. Still, it’s good to keep things professional and wear dresses around knee-length. You can make more of a statement, by accessorizing classic apparel with pieces like these sterling silver earrings by Ilaria.

What to wear to a holiday gala:

This is your chance to wear your most luxurious gown and let your inner celebrity shine. Go for a floor-length piece like this pleated silk chiffon gown and you’ll surely feel glamorous. You also don’t need to shy away from adding to your look with impressive holiday accessories. These gorgeous chandelier earrings by DUBLOS will only give your look more dazzle.
