This one of a kind Chiapas amber and sterling silver ring is distinctly special. Its center amber "stone" is a very transparent, brilliant fossil resin found in only a few parts of the world. The deposits in Chiapas, Mexico where this ring was made and is from, are unique because of their coloring. Besides the typical yellow, amber from Chiapas comes in red, violet and green. And it sometimes even has colored-nodes found inside the amber. From pre-Hispanic times, amber has been highly valued for making ornaments and trade. We think you will definitely want to decorate yourself with this exquisite and rare ring from one of the less traveled parts of our planet.

* The first additional picture is of one of the principle streets, Calle Real de Guadalupe, in the center of the charming city where I discovered these amazing amber rings, San Cristóbal de las Casas in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The second is of the beautiful Juana who spends her days in town selling zapatista, chiapaneca and animal dolls that she makes of wool. Her petit figure makes me look like a giant!
