Dreaming of an Escape

I am a dreamer.

And this month my dreamer tendencies have kicked into high gear as my European friends taunt me with their August holiday destinations that read like something from Condé Nast Traveler's Gold List. French riviera getaways, Greek island excursions and lazy beach time in Marbella are amongst the quintessential European hot spots where my friends will be sitting under large, colorful umbrellas sipping sangria and perfecting their tan. Humpf. I sit here behind my computer in my home office in Bellevue. C'est la vie.

My ever-growing fantasies of a sun-kissed hiatus across the Atlantic have been compounded by the glamorous itineraries created by the PINKTROTTERS Project.  I was recently introduced to this organization by one of its founders, Eliana.  She and co-founder, Yara, create "Glam Escapes" all over the world for small groups of international women. Their goal is to bring together a cosmopolitan community with a passion for travelling and a desire to network with like-minded women. Since they focus more on the "how than the where," their itineraries may include popular tourist destinations.  However, their purpose is to infuse orginality into each trip. They select experiences that are "intimate and undiscovered." I got lost in the the idea of unraveling the mysteries of Venice while exploring its canals by private boat or indulging in the decadence of Ibiza while celebrating the end of summer with other style-minded women.

This is indeed the stuff dreams are made of...I guess it is time to plan my escape.
